Christmas Lights

December 10, 2012 by Dawn Pasco

Have you ever seen the synchronized fountain at the Belagio Hotel in Las Vegas?  I can’t help but wonder if the same folks came up with synchronizing your Christmas lights to music.  Clark Griswold would certainly be impressed.  It never ceases to amaze me the things that people will dream up and the endless possibilities that exist.  As cool as this is, I have a feeling I would have a massive headache if I watched it for more than five minutes.  I can appreciate the time and creativity that went into creating this light display, but I think I’ll stick with my white lights strung across my shrubs.  However, these Christmas lights still make me smile!

I have struggled with lighting every year. Granted, my house really doesn’t lend itself to an interesting light display, nor does it have the proper shrubbery to create a pretty little winter garden. I’ve resigned myself to the icicles on the roof line, and this year added drapey lights to the fence in the back…(which really make me happy). I have a plan for a new light addition next year. Baby steps, I think, will keep me from getting frustrated with the process.

So, I’m trying, too. It is nothing like what these amazing people have above, but it certainly makes me appreciate the hard work and planning it takes to put it all together!

and yes….it gave me a headache too. (I wouldn’t want to be their neighbor)

Imagine living next store to this house! Hearing this all night! Love it to visit it only!

Every year, my husband has done more and more Christmas decoration; we left tasteful a number of years ago. But thank goodness he’s stayed away from music so far. I’ll keep my fingers crossed.

Thanks for the great blog, Dawn. I read it every morning and am always thrilled to see your ideas, musings and good advice.

Thanks Angie! It’s so good to hear from you. I loved your Christmas card. Bess is one talented little girl just like her mom. I think Bess needs one of those big inflated snowmen in the front yard 🙂

I enjoy shopping at Pottery Barn too, my daughter loves the Pottery Barn for teens. We ordered several items from the catalog when we remodeled her room. I also enjoy shopping at Kirklands. In fact a new Kirklands opened up in Olathe by Bed Bath and Beyond.

Very cool display, I am not that ambitious.
