The Most Wonderful Time of The Year

December 22, 2015 by Dawn Pasco

Santa

It’s the most wonderful time of the year, but not because kids are jingle belling and everyone telling you “be of good cheer”.  It’s because of why we celebrate Christmas in the first place, the birth of Christ. I get so wrapped up in gift buying and present wrapping that I sometimes forget whose birthday it is.

Christmas decor

I will be taking a little break from my blog and social media over the holidays to spend time with my family.  Every year I take time to reflect on the past year and set goals for the new year.  The nice thing about the new year is you have the opportunity to start all over again.  If things didn’t go your way in 2015, it’s a new year filled with new possibilities.

Lori Mitchell Christmas figurines

Every year I choose a word to focus on.  You can read all about the One Little Word concept here. I’ve already got my word picked out for 2016 which I’ll share with you in a future post.  I’m also working on a calendar for 2016 which will feature a Live Curiously Challenge each month.  I hope you’ll follow along with me and get out of your box and try something new.  You can download my ebook here for some ideas to get you started.

Christmas card

I’m continually trying to keep things interesting for you as a reader and myself. I’m curious to know what types of posts you would find helpful.  Please leave a comment or email me at dawn@joyfulscribblings.com. Have a wonderful holiday.  I hope your celebrations are filled with faith, hope and lots of love!

On a side note:  I created the above picture of my home in the country with the Waterlogue app.  I’m not artistic so I love being able to create little works of art from my photos.  I used this picture for my Christmas cards this year.  You can read more about Waterlogue here.

I love everything you write about Dawn! I am really enjoying your “out of the box” challenges. I love when you share new apps and short cuts, such as the picture books you create and order on your phone. Now I am interested in the Waterlogue app you just used. Thank you so much for sharing! Merry Christmas to you and your family.

Merry Christmas Kim! The Waterlogue app is so easy to use and since I’m drawing impaired it’s a great way to create art. You will have to experiment with it. Just upload any picture from your phone.

Merry Christmas Nancee! I mostly collect the Halloween Lori Mitchell figurines, but I do have several Christmas ones as well. They are so fun and cute in a strange sort of way 🙂

Thanks Keri! I can show you how easy the app is to use. You will want to turn everything into a watercolor pic 🙂
