I’ve been on a gold kick for the past year and gold accessories are currently in abundance. I recently picked up a few necessities at Target and naturally I had to make my way down the home decor aisles. The shelves were shinning brightly with gold home decor from Threshold and Nate Berkus. I felt a big grin come across my face as I contemplated which item to choose. It seemed as if they were all shouting pick me, pick me. My home is a little on home decorative accessory overload right now so I had no business buying anything, but I just had to take Mr. Turtle home with me.
This Fall I shared some of the gold office supplies I picked up at Target. Gold has made a comeback and believe it or not brass isn’t far behind. Not the shiny brass we remember from the early 90’s, but a more polished brass. Mixing metallics is also on trend right now.

I have to admit that I can still be a little gun-shy when it comes to mixing metallics, but I’m working on it. Ultimately I don’t thing you can go wrong if you choose to decorate with things you love. Gold may not be your thing and that’s okay. Miss Me jeans weren’t my thing several years ago, and I’m glad that trend has seen its way out. Trends come and go, but I’m all about the gold right now. Sometimes I have to remind myself that a little can go a long way and not overdo it.
I’m thankful gold jewelry has also come back in style. According to my mother, it never went out of style, but there was a long period of time where it seemed like silver reigned. Gold jewelry actually looks better with my skin tone, so I’m glad it’s popular again.
