Easy Patriotic Antipasto for a Party

June 23, 2014 by Dawn Pasco

#patriotic appetizer

I was inspired to put together this Patriotic Antipasto appetizer after my friend Christine shared a similar idea for her birthday party.  They make a great grab and go appetizer for a party where there may not be enough seating for everyone or for a pool party.

These patriotic antipasto cups are very easy to put together and will give your Fourth of July party a little extra spark.  Gather all of your ingredients and grab a family member or two to help you assemble the kabobs.  You can vary the ingredients based on your own personal tastes. I used cherry tomatoes, marinated artichoke hearts, cut up pepperoni sticks, cheese cubes and kalamata olives.  Some other ideas are cherry peppers, stuffed green olives,  and mozzarella balls.

I purchased clear plastic 9 oz. party cups from Party City.  You can also purchase them from Amazon. I found cupcake toppers at Hobby Lobby that look like a sparkler with a wood stick  long enough to put food on.  I also made my own patriotic skewers using a mini bamboo skewer and these free printables  from  The TomKat Studio.   If you peruse the baking isles at your local craft or discount store you can find similar items to use for skewers or make your own.
