Dogs and Henry Make Me Smile

February 24, 2014 by Dawn Pasco

#Ryan and Fritz

My son turns 18 today and watching him grow into a nice young man for the past 18 years, has made me smile every day.   I could dedicate this post to him, but being that he’s 18 he wouldn’t think that’s very cool.  I’ll wait until he graduates to share all of my boohooing.  I’ve decided to write about my other son of the canine variety who also makes me smile.

If you’ve been following my blog, you know I have a miniature schnauzer named Fritz.  I’ve written about him here, here and here.   I recently started following Lifestyle Expert, Mar Jennings.   He also owns a miniature schnauzer and has a Pinterest board titled Schnauzers.  Mar also shares pictures of other dog breeds, but mainly schnauzers.  I stared at the schnauzer board  for at least 10 minutes oohing over all of the adorable dogs.  Since my son will be leaving for college this fall I’ve decided I may need to add another child in schnauzer form.

Here are a few neighbor dogs that make me smile!

#liver schnauzer

Meet Nina Sophia. I had never seen a chocolate (liver) colored schnauzer before Nina Sophia.  I think she and Fritz should go on a date sometime.  He’s a few years older, but very distinguished, fun (he dresses up for Halloween), and very mature.

#shnauzer

Right after I let my friend Kyra know that Nina would be on my blog, she sent me a photo of Kala Mia.  She is the newest addition to their family.  This is not helping my eagerness to get another schnauzer at all!  Kala Mia reminds me of Fritz as a puppy.

I know a few other schnauzers that make me smile, but I didn’t get their photos in time so I’ll save them for another day!  I foresee a schnauzer roundup in the future.

The big dogs in the neighborhood.

#yellow labrador

Tucker’s mom Shelley sent me this photo this past summer and I’ve held on to it waiting for the right time to share it.  Tucker has grown quite a bit since this photo was taken. I’m  sure Shelley is doing some reminiscing just as I am with my son today.

#black labrador

Gunner is our cul-de-sac neighbor and loves our house because my husband loves to give him treats.  Gunner also fancies the UPS truck driver who throws him biscuits.

#cat

For those of you who love cats,  I introduce you to Henry.  I’ve never been a big cat person, but Henry makes me smile every time I see a picture of him on my friend Miki’s Facebook timeline.  This is one of his latest.  He’s a very curious cat!  I’m surprised he wasn’t trying to get the bird covered in glass.  I  also love her little kitchen table vignette, cat included.

I hope these furry creatures made you smile today!  They give their owners lots of love despite the trouble they get into sometimes.  My son always wanted a dog despite being terrified of them.  I’m glad he let love prevail instead of his fear because Fritz has brought us so much  JOY!

Thanks Dawn….just what I needed….BOOOHOO. My daughter’s cat Tiger just moved back home with her yesterday and I’m heartbroken! I wasn’t a cat person either, and neither was our dog, but I think we are both missing his naughty antics today! Pets fill a part of your life that you didn’t even know you needed filling.

I love animals too! They make me smile everyday. I have never seen a chocolate schnauzer, she is a doll! Fritz definitely needs to hook up with her!

Thank you! All the pictures made me smile. Henry looks like he’s smelling the tulips!
Our little rescue dog, Roscoe, he is a Yorkie Mix ~ I think he is a little bit of ‘Schnauzer’

I don’t know what I would do if I didn’t have my fur babies! They make me smile EVERYDAY!!! Everyday brings about something. This morning it was vomit on a new pillow cover (threw that away), couch, and the floor…..it’s all okay though 🙂 they can do no wrong in my eyes 🙂
And my kitten Henry…..always up to no good! Except when he’s sleeping, curled up, in a lap. So sweet!
    Fritz absolutely needs a playmate!

You’ve had some excitement at your house. It’s a good thing your animals are so darn cute 🙂 Chris keeps reminding me of the potty training.
