Mio Restaurant & Pizzeria

September 13, 2013 by Dawn Pasco

mio restaurant

Eating out at restaurants is a simple joy to me.  I love when other people cook .  My friend Cathy introduced me to Mio, a specialty cuisine concepts restaurant.  There are two Mio locations in the same strip center located at 135th & Roe.  Mio Trattoria and Mio Pizzeria are equally delicious.  I’m a little picky when it comes to Italian food, but I’ve really enjoyed  the dishes I’ve eaten at  both places.  The pizza and salads are delicious. They offer a nice selection of $25 bottles of wine, the staff is friendly and they have the best little cookies that melt in your mouth which are served with coffee.  I’ve got to get that cookie recipe!

This is a list of some of my other favorite restaurants in the Kansas City area.  Please click on the title of each place to take you to the post.

Unforked

Crispy Avocado Taco and Hail to the Kale Salad

These are just a few of the many places I enjoy.  I’ve tried to feature a few places that those who live in the area may not have tried.  Those readers who don’t live in the Kansas City area will have to visit sometime and partake in the many restaurant choices we offer.  Kansas City is best known for it’s BBQ and ironically I’ve not listed one BBQ place.  You can’t go wrong though when it comes to BBQ in Kansas City.  What’s your favorite place to dine out?

Awww…. So nice to see your “shout out” to our favorite local hangout… Mio!! So glad that we were able to introduce the two of you!! Aside from the delicious food, we love the personal touch from everyone there… To be greeted at the door by the manager, Carl, with a warm “Hello Toths”, and a waiter who remembers our favorite wines (Matt) and a personal “table-to-table” visit from the Executive Chef/owner, Julian.
Gotta say that another fav is def Unforked!! And the BLAT sandwich @ Pig & Finch. And the Winter White Cosmo @ Bonefish. And the…………. <3
What can I say. Cathy Toth loves to eat.

I knew there was a reason I liked you 🙂 I haven’t quite gotten the special treatment that I received when I was with you, but the staff is very friendly. I may have to check out that winter white cosmos @Bonefish this winter. Want to join me?

That pasta looks so good! I love trying new food, new restaurants and especially new drinks. I think it makes the whole experience so special when you have good company with you!

I agree Ulyth! I can get in a rut when it comes to going to my favorite restaurants, but I love to try new places too.

My favorite place is a restaurant downtown, Lucia’s. They have the best food! I do love to eat out, but the one thing that I want is that the food needs to be better than what I can cook at home (I’m a pretty good cook) and it needs to be at least as good as what my in-laws cook (they are amazing). I am a food snob, I guess. I like to eat, and I like really good food. 🙂 If I am ever in Kansas City, I will plan to visit your picks!
