Did I get your attention? I feel a little bit like a broken record saying this, but getting comments on my blog from readers is a simple joy for me. Many times they come just when I need them. I love when people take a minute to tell me they tried a recipe and enjoyed it. I also love when someone decides to step out of their box a little or tries a new product. I had to laugh when my friend Angela told me she has tried several of the Talenti Gelatos and rated them in order. I got stuck on Sea Salt Caramel, but she has inspired me to try others. My friend Helen commented on how she loved the coconut and I finally got around to trying it. It’s delicious as well. The sea salt caramel is still my favorite though. I also laughed when my friend Suzy commented that she had also stalked Matt Dillon and Andrew McCarthy when they were filming Kansas in Lawrence. We were students there at the same time, but didn’t know each other back then. My blogger friend Stacey left me a comment on how she used to study the JC Penney Christmas catalog as well, but for Hanukkah gifts. In our world of differences I love finding a commonality among people. Keep sharing your stories and comments!
I’m also grateful for handwritten notes and comments from people in person. I recently received a sweet note in the mail from someone I knew through my kids grade school. I haven’t seen her in years, but I was touched that she took the time to write me a nice note that she enjoys my blog. I’ve also had a few people tell me in person that they enjoy my blog and I had no idea they were reading it. I know one friend who has tried to leave comments and for some reason they aren’t showing so please always feel free to email me at dawn@joyfulscribblings.com if you have a question on something. I love shopping for back to school supplies, but not for my kid’s stuff. A new fun notebook, journal or file folder is a simple joy for me. Throw in some new highlighters and pens and I’m a happy girl.

I love it when people tell me they love my blog too and I had no idea they were reading it. I had that happen to me at a conference I was at early this year…several people over the course of the two days, said “oh you’re Dish of Daily Life, I love reading that.” Totally made my day. When you’re not a blogger, you don’t realize how much those comments or emails or little notes in the mail mean to us. Have a great weekend Dawn!

HAHA! This is GREAT! I LOVE the little cartoon at the end….because that is exACTly how I feel ALWAYS at the end of the summer! But not this time, I bought a groupon for boot camp and I’ll be ready for next summer, because all that gelato sampling has not helped and I’m pretty sure no matter how many times I comment it will NOT make me thinnner! (not that i wouldn’t be willing to try anything!)

Dawn, I totally agree, I love to read comments on my blog. It shows that someone made the effort to stop by, check in and even drop a little note to say hi. I cant say I have tried many recipes but I can say your book list has inspired me to keep reading and exploring. I also appreciate your comments on my blog, they motivate me to keep creating.

I am going to a BBQ this weekend and I couldn’t think of anything to bring…..Hmmmm. I know I will go to Dawn’s blog and look up some of her favorite recipes.
