Creating An Outdoor Space

May 22, 2013 by Dawn Pasco

Target Outdoor Patio Accessories
Target Outdoor Patio Accessories by dpasco on Polyvore

Now that I’ve covered everything you need to know to plan the perfect BBQ in the Lazy Days and BBQ series it’s time to spruce up your outdoor patio or deck.  These are a few  items I decided to feature from one of my all time favorite stores Target. If you live in my area you are bound to find me in Target at least once a week. It never fails that I  run into someone I know.

I purchased the Enjoy the Day outdoor pillow to put alongside some orange ones I purchased last year.  I’m also really loving the ikat print pillows and ottomans. They come in several colors (number 2 & 3)  When planning your outdoor space a rug can help to define a living or dining area (number 1). Outdoor lanterns help light your space in the evening.  Threshold has created several styles of ceramic  lanterns that are solar powered (number 4).

I’ve been collecting a few images of patio ideas I love on my pinterest board titled backyard.  You can click here to view more images. I hope this inspires you to get your patio or deck ready for the summer.  I’ll be working on mine this week!

I was just thinking yesterday that if I had to choose, I’d probably prefer a nice OUTDOOR space to one indoors. I just love being able to be in nature. Love these ideas, Dawn!

Thanks Gina. I agree with you, I love sitting outside. I just wish our Kansas weather was more conducive to having a nice outdoor living area. I love my sunroom because I feel like I’m outside, but don’t have to worry about the bugs, wind, rain, etc. Have a great Memorial Weekend! I hope you get to enjoy the outdoors.

Well, I still have more than a foot of snow on my patio, so I can’t get out there just yet. BUT, the weather has warmed, melting is happening, and I was just tooling around websites looking for an outdoor rug, so the timing is great!

You have had more than your fair share of snow in the Northeast this winter! It’s 70’s here this week and hopefully no more snow, but in Kansas anything is possible. I love outdoor rugs! I think it really helps ground your furniture and space. Target usually has some nice ones. Good luck!
